Hacktivism: Politics, Crime, or Fun?

Cílem této bakalářské práce je zanalyzovat fenomén zvaný hacktivismus, jeho význam, dopady na společnost a motivaci jeho aktérů. Termín hacktivismus se skládá ze dvou následujících termínů; aktivismus, který bývá ve většině případů politicky motivovaný a hacking, jenž se jedná o kriminální činnost za účelem zneužití chyby nebo nedokonalosti výpočetního systému. Za účelem efektivního dosažení svého cíle, se aktéři hacktivismu, stejně jako jiní aktivisté, většinou organizují do skupin. Práce je též zaměřena na motivaci a následky konání těchto organizovaných skupin, zejména na skupinu s názvem Anonymous, s exemplárními příklady jejich akcí z minulosti.

Internet Freedom as a Tool of U.S. Foreign Policy in Relation to the Arab Spring

Abstract1 Internet Freedom as a Tool of U. S. Foreign Policy in Relation to the Arab Spring analyzes political speeches of Hillary Clinton concerning "Internet Freedom" policy. I try to find out if there is some evidence supporting criticism about this issue using Critical Diskourse Analysis. As a result of this I have discovered that Clinton's approach is very weak primarily in transparency and regulation issues. I claim that the purpose of "Internet Freedom" is not to break the balance of power in the Middle East and cannot be seen as an extension of the traditional human rights. State Censorship of the Internet and the Methods of Circumvention

This Master thesis deals with the subject of state censorship of the Internet. The objective of the thesis is to map the techniques of state censorship of the Internet and the methods of circumvention. In the first part, the author introduces organisations and projects that investigate state Internet censorship in the world. Subsequently, the author depicts inspection methods of communication and the Internet filtering techniques. The following part focuses on the principles of circumventing Internet censorship. It also describes various techniques of the circumvention of the censorship. Another objective of the thesis is to test the practical methods of circumventing Internet censorship. As a destination for the measurement the author has chosen PRC where he scrutinised the state of Internet censorship and tested the success rate of circumvention methods. The presented outputs serve as an overview of the techniques of the state censorship of the Internet and the methods of its circumvention, and can be used as a foundation for further work.
